HUB CLUB: Social Latin Dance with Raza
Monday, April 2, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
HUB OTTAWA HAS ITS FIRST HUB CLUB!
Hub Clubs is a member-driven initiative to build communities around commonalities, passions, intellectual interests, hobbies or anything you can think of. For more information on Hub Clubs, visit the Hub Ottawa programming page. Raza Moghal, Hub Member, is the first to kick it off and he's looking for some dancers to join him in the fun!
About the Social Latin Dance Hub Club
Hub Ottawa Members are a dynamic and highly committed bunch of local change makers. They spend a lot of time working on their passions but from time to time they deserve a break and should have some fun! They need some cool opportunities to socialize with fellow Hub members, their friends, and yes even their partners.
This Hub Club will provide Hub Ottawa Members and their friends and partners an opportunity to unwind together on the dance floor through my way cool Salsa, Merengue and Bachata classes.
What is the "Social Latin dance" approaching to teaching Latin dance?
It is formula where
80% Latin dance class instruction +
10% social etiquette + 10% social awareness
The latter 20% is my very own dance floor social innovation
This Social Innovation comprises:
- dance etiquette,
- understanding body language,
- and rapport building techniques
- all to make a good impression and connect with your dance partner while dancing and on break from dancing.
***REST ASSURED THIS IS A LATIN DANCE CLASS, with a little Social Innovation thrown in to Spice things Up!
Dancing is a wonderful international skill set. It’s great because it fosters connection.
The Class is open to:
·Friends of Hub Members
·Partners of Hub Members
Length of Class
***There will be a Limit of 20 students in the class at one time
Each Class will be 60 minutes in length with 30 minutes of practice time to follow
Clothing and Footwear
May I ask that our participants wear light breathable clothing and smooth soled shoes with a wooden or leather sole. Running shoes are not desirable because their soles create too much friction. Female participants could wear shoes with an ankle strap and short heel to help with their rotation.
About Raza & Salsa Connectica: Raza Moghal runs Salsa Connectica, a social enterprise dedicated to helping Ottawans and now Hub Members to connect via Latin dance. You can find more information here.
